Rice is one of the most staple foods in India, and it is also used to make a variety of dishes like Biryani and Pulao.
Biryani is the most demanding food among Indians, and today we will be talking about Veg biryani.
Pulao is one of the most delicious dishes that can be prepared with rice.
On the contrary, many people mostly mistake veg biryani and pulao as same. But if you feel the same, then read more and learn the difference between the two dishes.
Biryani is a Persian dish; regular biryani is made with meat and rice, but India has a huge number of vegetarians, so a vegetarian version of biryani is made with the same process but without meat..
Pulao has a history way older than Biryani, it is believed to be originated in Middle Eastern countries, and you can find mentions of the dish in different literatures like Sanskrit, Iranian, and Tamil.
The rice and vegetables are cooked separately and then layered in a pan with a heavy bottom to make vegetarian biryani. This dish is called dum biryani because each layer has fried onions, garam masala, and biryani attar. It is typically sealed and steamed.
To make pulao, long grain rice must first soak in water for at least 30 minutes. All the vegetables are added and cooked for five minutes after a large amount of onions and garlic are sauteed in oil or ghee. The spices are then added to taste. Before serving, steam the pulao until the rice is soft and the vegetables are cooked.
