Recipe of delicious thekua

Ingredients

Gather 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 1 cup of jaggery (grated), 1/4 cup of ghee, a pinch of salt, and water as needed to make a firm dough

Mixing the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, grated jaggery, ghee, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and mixture into a firm dough

Shaping Thekua

Take small portions of the dough and shape them into small, flat, round discs. You can also use cookie cutters for different shapes

Decorating

Optionally, use a knife or fork to make designs on the surface of each thekua. This adds a decorative touch to the final product

Frying

Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Fry the thekuas until they turn golden brown on both sides. Ensure they are cooked evenly for a crispy texture

Draining Excess Ghee

Once fried, place the thekuas on a paper towel to absorb any excess ghee and allow them to cool slightly

Serve and Enjoy

 Your delicious thekuas are ready to be served. Enjoy these sweet, crispy treats with a hot cup of tea or as a festive snack
