In India, 16 crore people drink alcohol annually, a significant proportion of whom are women.

The National Family and Health Survey (NFHS-5) was carried out by the Central Government in 2019 and 2021.

Arunachal Pradesh - 24.2%

Sikkim - 16.2%

Assam - 7.3%

Telangana - 6.7%

Jharkhand - 6.1%

A&N Islands - 5.0%

Chhattisgarh - 4.9%
