Cardiovascular exercises promotes our heart's ability to pump blood, and the lungs.

Strength training is done to develop strength, muscle, and endurance in the body.

 It is also called resistance training and it builds your strength and endurance including lifting weights.

If your aim to shed weight then you need to include both in your gym routine. 

Cardio exercises help you burn more calories. 

Strength training helps you lose weight and prevents the building of muscle tissue.
