8 mesmerizing images of galaxies, star clusters by NASA

The brighter blue stars in the cluster center burn hotter and die more quickly; the red stars on the outskirts are older stars that burn less hot.

The open cluster Trumpler 14 contains some of the most massive and bright stars in our galaxy, and it is located 8,000 light-years away.

This 100 million-year-old globular cluster is part of the Milky Way's satellite galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud, which is also the galaxy's birthplace for billions of stars.

NGC 2002 is a relatively young cluster, having formed only 18 million years ago, with a diameter of roughly 30 light-years.

This entire group is NGC 1858, an open star cluster located in the Large Magellanic Cloud's northwest.

As part of a research project examining how dust in the Large Magellanic Cloud blocks ultraviolet light, Hubble photographed the image.
