How long Mughal emperor Akbar used to sleep in a day

Emperor Akbar is one of the most popular rulers of the Mughal Sultanate, who is known for his religious harmony. Akbar is also known for bringing discipline in the court and governance. 

While being the emperor, Akbar used to meet the public continuously and himself lived a very disciplined life. 

According to the court historian Abul Fazal, Akbar had his own routine which he followed regularly. According to Abul Fazal, who wrote Akbar's biography, the emperor used to work for about 16 hours a day. 

Akbar had a rule that every morning he used to meet the subjects after retiring from daily chores and after namaz. 

Akbar used to sleep for a while in the afternoon every day and then used to take part in the court work in the evening. 

 After sunset, Akbar used to supervise the activities of the harem and often watched the performance of the artists there.
