MacKenzie Scott through her organisation Yield Giving and Lever for Change announced a $640 million donation to 361 nonprofits.
The amount when converted in Indian Rupees comes up to be Rs 5320 crore.
The donation came after an open call for applicants, with over 6,000 nonprofit organisations vying for funding.
Scott's giving exceeded initial plans, which aimed for 250 applicants of $1 million each.
Lever for Change reported that the decision to expand the awardee pool and award amount was influenced by the remarkable work of the organisations.
Scott's philanthropic approach contrasts with her ex-husband Jeff Bezos, as she distributes large sums across numerous smaller organisations.
Organisations had to undergo a rigorous evaluation process involving peer ratings, interviews with external panels, and final rounds to qualify for the prize.
This donation follows Scott's previous philanthropic contributions, including $2.15 billion in donations announced last December and $3.8 billion in 2022 to various organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Girl Scouts of the USA.
