Mesmerising images of galaxies captured by NASA telescopes

This recent Hubble Space Telescope image is filled with a striking orange and blue streak. An edge-on view of the lenticular galaxy NGC 612 was captured by Hubble's visible and infrared capabilities.

This image of the peaceful spiral galaxy UGC 12295 was taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.

The spiral galaxy NGC 6956's blue swirls shine brightly against an ominous background. Barred spiral galaxies, like NGC 6956, are a common kind of spiral galaxy that have a bar-shaped structure of stars in the centre.

This photograph, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope, shows the colourful star-forming disc of the jellyfish galaxy JO206 encircled by a light-colored, bright dust cloud.

This was taken with the Hubble Space Telescope and shows the lenticular galaxy NGC 5283. An active galactic nucleus, or AGN, is present in NGC 5283.

This Hubble Space Telescope image primarily features the barred spiral galaxy UGC 678.

The bright spiral galaxy MCG-01-24-014, situated approximately 275 million light-years away from Earth, is depicted in this Hubble Space Telescope image.

Known as UGC 9391, this solitary spiral galaxy was imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope. The galaxy is located in the constellation Draco, close to the north celestial pole, 130 million light-years from Earth.
