What would happen if someone dies in space?

Shivam Verma

In space, there is no atmosphere, so a body would not decompose as it would on Earth.

There are no bacteria or other organisms to aid in decomposition.

The body would be exposed to extreme temperatures, depending on its location relative to the Sun.

In direct sunlight, it could reach very high temperatures, while in the shadow of a spacecraft, it could become extremely cold.

If exposed to the vacuum of space, it would likely freeze solid.

Space agencies also have protocols for dealing with death in space.
