After overcoming a series of crises, chief minister BS Yeddyurappa is now in a relaxed mood. He has decided to take a proper one-week rest and come back rejuvenated.

This time around, Yeddyurappa has headed towards the Malabar region in Kerala where he will enjoy a six-day stay at the Arya Vaidya Sala in Kottakkal, a healthcare centre famous for its Ayurvedic therapies.

The chief minister usually visits Jindal Naturecure situated in the outskirts of Bangalore for a day or two of rest once in three or four months. Sources close to Yeddyurappa said when the chief minister is admitted to Jindal he gets constantly disturbed by the media brigade, his
own ministerial colleagues and others. So this time around, the chief minister preferred Kottakkal over Jindal Naturecure.

Yeddyurappa will stay in Kottakkal till the morning of June 19. The chief minister landed at the Kozhikode  airport on a chartered flight from Hubli on Monday night along with his daughter Uma and a few security officers. He was received by the Arya Vaidya Sala family at Kailasamandiram. Yeddyurappa also prayed at the Viswambhara temple of the centre.

Chief whip AH Shivayogi and three members of the Karnataka Legislative Council are accompanying the chief minister.

Senior doctors of Arya Vaidya Sala led by PK Warrier conducted a preliminary test on Yeddyurappa. He was given a VIP suite and the treatment began on Tuesday morning.

Sources clarified that the chief minister had no health problem. “He was on hectic tours and embroiled in political crisis over the past five months. He now feels that things have settled down a bit. The political crisis has blown over and the state is receiving good monsoon. So he has gone to take rest and after that he will come back and start his district tour,” said the sources.

The chief minister had opted for a similar relaxation at Jindal Naturecure last year after thwarting a threat to his government when a section of BJP leaders protested against his leadership.
