The film starring Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal, has some swashbuckling music by Anirudh Ravichander. From start to finish, the trailer of Maari is all about Dhanush and his fantastic acting skills. Dhanush plays a local goon named Maari in the film, who is feared by his enemies. Even the police avoids getting involved in his matters. He falls for a homely girl next door played by Kajal Aggarwal. Dhanush as a don is every bit stylish and has great screen presence to make him believable as a ruffian. Throughout the trailer, one can’t help but draw comparisons between Dhanush and his stylish father-in-law Rajnikanth. Be it the cigarette or goggles or his swag, Dhanush will remind you of Rajnikanth in every frame. The scene where he bursts balloons from hands of small kids using his cigarette showcases Dhanush’s wicked sense of humour which cannot be missed. Though the plot doesn’t seem novel, it is Dhanush who pulls the trailer forward and makes it interesting.
