Forty seven positive cases of dengue have been reported in just 12 days across Vadodara city and district, while more than 100 cases of suspected dengue are under treatment at various hospitals of the city and district.

The epidemic has sent a shock wave through the city, while the health department of VMC and district panchayat has geared up to take actions against them.

Mukesh Vaidya, VMC health official said that, they have already started taking precautionary measures to control the epidemic. While the citizens were breathing a sigh of relief from H1N1 threat, the dengue threat has once again shocked the citizens. Large numbers of patients are visiting the hospitals with symptoms of the dengue fever.

According to the official figures recorded at the health department of VMC, Forty patients from city and district were admitted at the government hospital with symptoms of Dengue fever, out of which 24 patients have been detected positive for Dengue fever.
