Congress today sought to steer clear of the Dinakaran issue, saying the party is yet to take a decision on the matter.

"It is not proper to comment on the issue (Dinakaran) as no decision has been taken by the party yet," Congress spokesperson Abhisek Singhvi told reporters outside Parliament.

The first step for initiating impeachment against Karnataka high court chief justice PD Dinakaran, facing allegations of land grab, was taken by a group of 75 members of the Rajya Sabha, who presented a petition to House chairman and vice president Hamid Ansari.

Singhvi said there may be individual opinion on the issue but as a political party Congress has taken no decision on it.

Major opposition parties, including BJP, AIADMK, SP, Left parties, JD(U) and Akali Dal have sought impeachment of Dinakaran.
