As he sets his eyes on the 7, RCR, the Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is not only facing opposition from his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar, but also from the cyber miscreants who are constantly attacking his personal website.

If cyber security experts are to be believed, Modi’s website is facing a minimum of three attacks per week. Not only that his website managers have been forced to stay on toes to deal with such attempts, some of which are sophisticated.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, an expert who has worked for Modi’s website for some time said, “CM’s personal website www.narendramodi.in is amongst top 6,500 trafficked websites in the country. So there is no doubt that it has many visitors and not all them are on the page with good intention. The website is facing hacking activity quite frequently. On an average, the website is facing three attacks per week.” The sources added, “These attacks are from across the globe, sometimes from India as well. They are trying to block the website or upload some malicious content on the website. However, the website managers are deft at securing it from the miscreants.”

Explaining the reasons behind such frequent attack on CM’s website, the expert said, “Modi’s website is interactive. It has many sections in it, where the visitors can give their inputs like citizen journalism, write to CM, etc. These sections are getting hundreds of inputs, so it can’t be stopped. At the same time, securing the website from constant attack is also an essential part.”

Referring to Modi’s website being amongst top 6,500 popular website, the expert said, “According to Alexa.com, Modi’s website is ranked 6,135 in India and 68,589 in the world based on the traffic.”

Interestingly, When compared to Modi’s website, BJP’s national website BJP.org and AICC (All India Congress Committee) websites are way behind in terms of traffic. “BJP’s website is ranked  12,760 in India and 1,35,953 in the world, whereas Congress website aicc.org.in is ranked 14,436 in India and 2,02,621 in the world.”
