Four booked for firing at jailor in Madhya Pradesh

Four unidentified persons have been booked on the charge of firing at the official residence of Ambah sub-prison jailor, and trying to scare him, police said today.
   
A fired cartridge, a cell phone and SIM have been recovered close to jailor NK Pandey's residence where four accused tried to scare him last night near here, police said.
   
The accused surrounded Pandey's residence and hurled abuses, challenged him and fired at his place, they said, adding that they fled from the spot before police reached.
   
Sub jail superintendent and sub divisional magistrate ML Daultani said that they suspect that the accused were friends of some dreaded prisoners in the jail.
   
They might have resorted to firing after being denied permission to meet their friends in jail, the SDM said, adding four dreaded prisoners will be shifted to other place following the incident.
