    Three pilgrims have died due to cardiac arrest at Baltal and Sheshnag en route the cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas, officials said here today.

    22-year-old Pardeep Kumar Jaswal of Uttar Pradesh died at Sheshnag on the Pahalgam-Amarnath route yesterday, officials said.

    While 55-year-old Badkar Parvinder of Madhya Pradesh died at Baltal, another 55-year-old Suthi Lal Gupta of Varanasi died at Dumel near Baltal due to cardiac arrest, they said.

    A total of 40 pilgrims have died due to various reasons since the Amarnath yatra started on June 30.
