If someone lures you to a career as a gigolo by promising you big bucks for a few hours of work, you should become cautious.
In an elaborate racket, some frauds have cheated hundreds of young men in the city, of lakhs of rupees by promising them huge earnings if they agreed to become gigolos for wealthy, high-profile women.

The racketeers had placed advertisements in newspapers and had asked for a high amount as security money before registering an applicant as a gigolo.

Among the many victims of the racketeers were three friends — Kamlesh, Rajesh and Samir (names changed) — who together deposited around Rs50,000 in a private bank account in the name of ‘Bajaj International’. They deposited the money to become members of ‘Friends Club’, as directed by the advertisement.
The three friends found the offer so lucrative that they decided to go for it.

When Kamlesh called the phone number given in the advertisement, a girl, who called herself Swati, answered, speaking very politely.

“We were told that we would be paid Rs7,500 for spending two-three hours with high-profile women in Ahmedabad,” Kamlesh told DNA. But the girl on the phone demanded that they first pay some money as registration fee and security deposit.
