For the first time, the Barabati Stadium here is set to see performance by cheergirls during the IPL matches scheduled next month despite threat by an outfit against any "skin" show.

"The two IPL matches to be played here are part a significant international cricket event. It has been our practice to have cheer girls in our matches everywhere. They will be here too," director of Deccan Chargers Venkat Reddy told reporters in Cuttack.

Stating that the IPL authorities are least bothered about warning by 'Kalinga Sena' against cheergirls and participation of Australian players, he said the Centre has promised full security to IPL players from all countries.

"Both Australian players and cheer girls will take part in the event," he said.

Reddy, who along with a delegation of IPL inspected the ground and other facilities at Barabati Stadium, said tickets
for the matches would be priced lower than in other cities.

Eighty-five per cent of the tickets for both the matches slated for March 19 and 21 at the stadium with a sitting capacity of about 36,000 would be sold through banks, he said.

Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Ashirbad Behera said efforts would be made to make Barabati Stadium a permanent venue for the IPL matches.
