Manchester United stars have been blasted by a top sports nutritionist for their junk food-loving lifestyle and gorging on pizza and chips after games.

The carbohydrate-packed post-match feasts at Old Trafford to help the players refuel after their grueling sessions also include Sausage sandwiches.

Expert Anita Bean, of the Nutrition Society, slammed the grub as “high in unhealthy fat”, saying fruit and yoghurt is better.

“I'm surprised. This isn't normal for top players. It's what you expect from amateurs,” The Sun quoted Bean, as saying.
