Manchester United's ace midfielder Paul Scholes is ready to extend his comeback at the club by another season.

Scholes came out of retirement in January, and played a huge hand in helping Manchester United overtake bitter neighbors Manchester City at the top of the table.

He is now keen to follow fellow United's old-boy Ryan Giggs, 38, into committing himself to another season, The Sun reports.

Scholes has taken part in all barring two of United's 15 games from the moment he came on as a sub in the 3-2 FA Cup win over Manchester City on January 8. He has started eight of those games scoring twice and won great reviews.

United's manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "His form has been fantastic."

Scholes retired at the end of last season but he swiftly missed playing as he helped coach the reserves at Carrington.
