A temple of Lord Shiva is being built in Delhi's Burari. This temple is being built in the name of Shri Kedarnath Dham and the Bhoomi Pujan of this temple took place on July 10. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the Bhoomi Pujan. It is being claimed that this temple will be built on 3 acres of land by Shri Kedarnath Dham Trust Burari. The trust says that the doors of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand remain closed for 6 months, that's why this temple is being built. There is a plan to make this temple exactly like Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand and this is the subject of controversy.

The priests of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand allege that the construction of the Kedarnath temple in Delhi is against religious tradition. The priests say that by doing this, an attempt is being made to tamper with Hindu traditions. The saints say that by taking the stone from Kedarnath Dham and installing it in Delhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has tampered with the tradition of Kedarnath Dham. They say that Kedarnath Dham is only one and will remain one. No one can replace Kedarnath Dham.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of the Jyotish Peeth in Uttarakhand, who turned down the invitation to the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, said, "When the address for Kedarnath is in the Himalayas, how can it be in Delhi?" The saints and sages of Kedarnath Dham have started a protest against the Kedarnath temple being built in Delhi. The priests of Kedarnath Dham are continuously protesting against it and are warning that if the decision to build the Kedarnath Dham temple in Delhi is not withdrawn, then there will be a movement.

Meanwhile, Ajendra Ajay, President of Shri Badrinath- Kedarnath Temple Committee, said, "The Uttarakhand government has nothing to do with this temple. The Chief Minister had attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of this temple on the request of saints and some public representatives..."
