Mahindra & Mahindra is to launch its upcoming 5-door version of the popular off-roader Thar on India’s Independence Day (August 15). It will be called the Mahindra ‘Thar Roxx.’
Besides revealing the name, the company also took on X to release a teaser video for car enthusiasts, which offers a premium look of the Mahindra Thar Roxx.

"The 'Thar Roxx' with its distinctive design, premium quotient, advanced technology, enhanced performance, sophistication, and safety is 'The' SUV. While retaining the core attributes of the iconic Thar the 'Thar ROXX' represents the larger-than-life personality of a rockstar and will disrupt the SUV category," said Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is installed with distinctive circular LED headlamps that come with DRLs, fog lights, and tail lamps.
The SUV makes a bold statement with its new grille design and new alloy wheels. The 5-door SUV also gets a comprehensive 360-degree camera system. Plus, you'll find the rear door handle is installed on the door frame.
However, no official visuals of the SUV's interiors have been unveiled yet, but it is expected that the Mahindra Thar Roxx will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a panoramic sunroof as well.
Interestingly, the Thar Roxx will get three engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre petrol, with manual and automatic gearboxes to choose from.
The price of the Mahindra Thar 5-door version is likely to start from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
