2 die in accident in Bangalore

A motorcycle rider and a pedestrian were killed in a road accident when the speeding motorcycle hit the pedestrian in Chikkabidarakallu village on Monday morning.

The motorcycle rider, Shiva Kumar, 30, was an employee of a private company. The police are yet to ascertain the identity of the pedestrian, whose age appeared to be about 35 years.

The police said the accident took place at 11.30am. Kumar was riding the motorcycle at a high speed and hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the road. The pedestrian died instantly and Kumar succumbed en route to hospital.

Madanayakanahalli police shifted the bodies to Nelamangala Government Hospital for postmortem.

Kumar’s body was handed over to his family after postmortem.
Efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the pedestrian.
