Deepika Padukone is unrecognisable in 'Chhapaak'

Deepika Padukone took up the challenge of playing acid-attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal in the movie 'Chhapaak'.

Deepika Padukone experimented with her look right in her debut film 'Om Shanti Om' and later, she had even undergone a transformation for Akshay Kumar starrer 'Chandi Chowk To China'.

Laxmi had previously told Hindustan Times that she is happy to see Deepika Padukone play her character on screen. "I am so happy that Deepika is playing the role. I have no right to judge her. How can I judge someone for something which I can’t do. She has played wonderful characters on screen and I believe she will give her best. I want to thank Deepika ji, Meghna ji and the entire team who will be working together on the film. I am glad that the movie will spread awareness and will help people who are victims of such incidents to come out of it. They will get inspired that if she can do it than why not us," said the acid attack survivor.

While Deepika Padukone became a top-contending actress post her appearance in Homi Adajania's 'Cocktail' and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat', Meghna Gulzar became the most looked-forward-to director after making 'Talvar' and 'Raazi'.
