Karan Johar's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kajol hit the screens in 1998
One of the most iconic films of the '90s that made an indelible mark and is yet popular amongst the audience- Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completes 20 years on Tuesday.
The cult film released in 1998, was one's guilty pleasure repertoire and had become a huge success upon its release. The film made us fall in love with the idea of love and friendship and 'pyaar dosti hai'.
Written and directed by Karan Johar, the film brought together one of the three most amazing people together on screen- Rani Mukerji (Tina), Shah Rukh Khan (Rahul) and Kajol (Anjali), and was a gamechanger of sorts for all the people who worked on the film.
The easy-breezy beginning, gradually turning into a bitter-sour love triangle and then evolving into tragedy and finally culminating into love and romance, made for a perfect emotional roller coaster and is yet etched in the minds of all!

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol were Karan Johar's first choices to play Rahul and Anjali, respectively. The two had promised to be a part of Karan's first film back when he was the assistant director on Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge
2. Rani Mukerji wasn't the original choice to play Tina

Tina's character was originally written with Twinkle Khanna in mind, and was even named after her. However, she rejected the role, it was offered to a range of other actresses, before Rani was cast

Shah Rukh Khan's iconic Polo Sport t-shirt from the song 'Koi Mil Gaya' cost £75, and Karan Johar and designer Manish Malhotra debated buying it for three hours before eventually picking it up.
Even though his clothes became a rage after the film's release, SRK admitted that he was embarrassed to wear his costumes as they were too tight
