Latest Bollywood News: Akshay Kumar donates Rs 2 crore to Mumbai Police, Kanika Kapoor to donate plasma & more

After donating Rs 25 crore to PM Cares Fund to fight the coronavirus pandemic, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar donated Rs 2 crore to the Mumbai Police Foundation. The actor made his contribution keeping in mind the recent demise of Mumbai Police head constables Chandrakant Pendurkar and Sandip Surve as the police are working relentlessly to maintain law and order amid the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who had come under fire for reckless behaviour after returning from the UK has decided to donate plasma after recovering from the deadly coronavirus. 

Kanika has been under quarantine for several days after she tested negative for the virus. According to a report, a team of doctors from King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, will test Kanika’s blood to check if her plasma is fit to be used as a treatment for COVID-19 patients.

Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon says she is grateful for her journey in the industry and the success that she has enjoyed but has acknowledged that her journey would have been easier is she has been a star kid. In a recent interview, Kriti talked about her career so far and the self-doubt she faced at the start of her career. Kriti said, "When you don’t come from a film family, you don’t get your second film before your first film releases. Which happens when you come from a film family, many times. To even come on magazine covers is a big deal. You have to go through a lot to reach that place. Like coming on a Filmfare cover for the first time. My Vogue cover was after about three years and I have done only one till now."

The title was announced a few days back and also that it has been extensively shot in the underbelly of Mumbai. So is Lara in touch with her fellow contemporaries after all these years? To which she replied, "Yes, I'm still very much in touch with both Priyanka and Dia and very constantly in touch. At least I know for sure that both of them are still a very integral part of my life. It's very easy for us to pick up a phone or anything and just reach out to each other immediately."
