Neeraj Kabi, who recently impressed viewers with his portrayal of a top cop with grey shades in Sacred Games, is all set to deliver another knockout act in Gali Guleiyan. The psychological drama also features Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, Shahana Goswami and newcomer Om Singh. Neeraj, who began his career with theatre and gave a stellar performance as a Jain monk in Ship Of Theseus, plays a heartless butcher who is also an affectionate lover in the upcoming film.
Talking about collaborating with the actor, debutant director Dipesh Jain said, “Gali Guleiyan offers the scope of essaying a man with two diametrically different sides — one is violent, stern and cruel to his own family but the other is gentle and patient with his lover. Neeraj came to my mind for his versatility and the ability to carry roles across a spectrum. I found working with him a refreshing and memorable experience. An actor that elevates a character like this is rare.”
The project has already garnered accolades and won awards at MAMI, The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Indian Film Festival of London and Busan International Film Festival among others.
Gali Guleiyan, produced by Shuchi Jain of Exstant Motion Pictures, releases worldwide on September 7.
