'Shabaash Mithu': Taapsee Pannu as Mithali Raj impresses in first look; announces release date

Taapsee Pannu is all set to be seen playing the role of Indian skipper Mithali Raj in her biopic titled Shabaash Mithu. The actor started prepping for the role since last year and is leaving no stone unturned in getting into the cricketing skills of Mithali. The right-handed batsman has also been with Taapsee and given her numerous tips for the role. On Tuesday, Taapsee took to her Instagram story and teased a few photos from her prep.
Now, finally, she took to her Instagram page and shared the first look of Shabaash Mithu. In the poster, Taapsee is a spitting image of the captain and is seen donning the Indian jersey and giving an intense look. The actor shared the poster with an interesting caption as one of the quotes given by Mithali. She wrote, "“I have always been asked who’s your favourite male cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is.” The statement that made every cricket lover pause and introspects that do they love the game or the gender playing it. Skipper, u will be the ultimate ‘Game Changer’ ! @mithaliraj #ShabaashMithu @rahulpdholakia @viacom18studios #AjitAndhare @priyaaven"

Mithali replied to Taapsee's post look by tweeting, "Thanks @taapsee!! Looking forward to you bringing life to my story on the big screen!"
Earlier on Mithali's birthday, Taapsee celebrated with her and posted the photos. She captioned the post stating, "You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it’s truly an honour to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen."
Shabaash Mithu is being helmed by Rahul Dholakia and is hitting the screens on February 5, 2021.
