The best compliment that Siddhant Chaturvedi received for 'Gully Boy' was from Bhabhi Deepika Padukone

Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' is garnering praise from all quarters and while Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's performances are being praised, it's debutant Siddhant Chaturvedi who is earning special attention from the industry and audience. 

The actor, who plays rapper MC Sher in 'Gully Boy' - a mentor to Ranveer's Murad,  recently spoke to Hindustan Times about the best compliment he received for the film. 

In the interview, Siddhant that the compliment that stood out from the rest was that of Ranveer Singh's wife and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone. "It was Deepika who said, 'Oh! He is just a boy. He is so cute'," Siddhant told Hindustan Times. He also added, "People were expecting someone huge. You know like someone around 28. When they saw me in real they were quite astonished. Also, they thought I am a real rapper."

The actor also recently received a special appreciation letter from Amitabh Bachchan along with a bouquet of flowers. Amitabh wrote in the letter in Hindi saying that for an actor, the most difficult job is to remain simple in front of the camera and that Siddhant was just that. The young actor shared his picture holding the note while thanking the actor for his gesture.

As Siddhant’s happy picture said it all, co-star Ranveer commented on his post, “Arre baap re baap re baap.”

Asked if he has someone like MC Sher in his life, Siddhant said there's not one but many. "I have lots of MC Shers in my life. My dad is my MC Sher, there is Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and Zoya Akhtar was my sherni. And last but not the least, Ranveer Singh," the 25-year-old actor told Hindustan Times.
