Alia Bhatt is riding on a high after the success of Raazi, but she managed to take time out to watch the fun-filled Veere De Wedding that starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam K Ahuja,Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
Taking to Twitter, Alia said, “I smell girl power!!!!!! Congratulations team #VeereDiWeeding !!!!! This is beyond epic (sic).”

Veere Di Wedding on Saturday became the third highest opener of 2018 so far with earnings of Rs 10.70 crore earnings on day-one of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the box office mathematics on Twitter and wrote,"Veere Di Wedding has a winning start on Day 1. Makes its way into the top 5 openers of 2018. Expected to build up a solid total over the weekend... Fri Rs. 10.70 cr. India biz."
Excited about the film's response, Sonam K Ahuja took to Instagram and captioned it, 'Veere Di Wedding' opens to 10.70 Crores on day 1! Third highest opener this year for a film without a hero and an adult rating! Clearly the future is female! : Farhan Akhtar also gave a shout-out to the Veeres.
Primarily, the film is about these four girls and their journey in life. Kalindi is happy living in with her BF but Rishabh wants to get married and proposes to her. That's the starting point and is instrumental in getting the four friends who call themselves Veere together. Indian weddings, read Punjabi weddings, mean all the functions leading to marriage like mehndi, sangeet etc are paramount and give enough reason for our girls to doll up. So, the film sets enough fashion goals with Kareena and surprisingly Swara leading the brigade. Kareena aces it and when she is in the frame you can't take your eyes off her! Post motherhood Kareena is looking more gorgeous. Sonam, to her credit, takes a backseat and lets Kareena take over. In the film it's her mother, nicely played by Neena Gupta, egging her to dress up as she wants to get her married!
