We were just two people making each other extremely unhappy: Malaika Arora on her divorce with Arbaaz Khan

It's been almost two years since Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora finalised their divorce. The estranged couple was married for almost two decades and have a teenage son named Arhaan Khan. Even after being divorced, Arbaaz and Malaika share a cordial relationship and are often seen going on lunch and dinner outing with their families. Moreover, Malaika also attends family events and festivals being held at the Khan household every year.

Recently, on a radio show being hosted by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika opened up about her divorce with Arbaaz. She stated, "We were just two people in a situation that were making each other extremely unhappy which was impacting everybody else's life around us." Arora also shared how she discussed this with her whole family. She added, "Even the night before I got divorced, I had my family sit with me and ask me yet again, 'Are you sure? Are you 100 percent about your decision?' So I think that was something I heard all along and rightly so. These are the people who worry and care so they will definitely say that."

The stunning beauty revealed that Arbaaz and she discussed every aspect before coming to the conclusion of getting separated. She went on to say, "It's never ever easy like any other major decision in your life and at the end of the day, someone has to be blamed. You always have to point fingers at someone. I think that's the general human nature to go about things. It's never easy, but the person that I am, for me happiness is the most important. And it's not just me is the happiness for everybody around. So even if it means that I have to make or take such a major decision in my life, of course, I didn't do it alone. There are two people involved. And I think we eventually did think about a lot of things, we weighed every single pros and con and then we decided that I think it's better off that we go our separate ways because I think we'll just be better people."

On being quizzed about maintaining a cordial relationship with Arbaaz, Malaika stated, "I think it's more when you have a child involved. I wouldn't say that Arbaaz and I are best of friends, but I think we are cordial. We have a very healthy relationship and of course, our child is the most important factor in our life."

Currently, Malaika is rumoured to be dating Arjun Kapoor, while Arbaaz is said to be in a relationship with Giorgia Andriani.
