Alia Bhatt presented the Best Actor award to beau Ranbir Kapoor. The 'Sanju' actor dedicated his award to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in a heartfelt speech
Finally! The much awaited star studded awards function of Zee Cine Awards 2019 was aired on Sunday afternoon in which the movies Padmaavat and Sanju won the top honours. While a number of never-seen-before moments made the awards show truly memorable, Ranbir Kapoor's award winning speech left Alia Bhatt and others a bit emotional.
Alia Bhatt came to present the award for Best Acor (Male) and announced that it's been given to her beau Ranbir Kapoor for his mind blowing performance in Sanju. 'The award goes to my all time favourite, Ranbir Kapoor for Sanju', she said.
Ranbir walked up to the stage and collected his award from his lady love. Post that, the Sanju actor gave a heartfelt speech, thanking everyone and then dedicated his award to 'two very special people' in his life -- his father Rishi Kapoor and his mother Neetu Kapoor.
He also mentioned how Rishi Kapoor is currently going through a rough patch in life owing to his health. "I've often heard when you come into some kind of crossroads in life you can really tell who you are as a person," he said while talking about her father, who's currently being treated in the US. He also shared how his father often speaks to him about the movies and his insecurites. "He speaks to me about his insecurity, that when he gets back, will he get to work in the movies, will people offer him films, will he be able to act in movies and that kind of inspiration and passion and madness is what brings all this to perspective."
While Ranbir was speaking about his father, one could see a visibly emotional Alia, wiping tears off her face. Ranbir then goes on to talk about his mother Neetu Kapoor and says "The kind of love, care support that she's show towards a difficult man at a difficult time, it's unconditional, it's beautiful, it's selfless and that is the most beautiful thing in life. Nothing else. It's just love."
