India's richest man is Mukesh Ambani. However, he is not the richest stock investor in the country. Radhakishan Damani is the richest person who draws his wealth from the stock market. His mentee, late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's family is the second on the list.

Hemendra Kothari, Akash Bhanshali, Mukul Agrawal, Ashish Dhawan and Nemish Shah are also on the list compiled by the Economic Times.

Damani's stock market portfolio was Rs 1.59 lakh crore. In total, these investors' total net worth is Rs 2.3 lakh crore.

Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's wife, owns a stake in Titan worth Rs 39703 crore.

Damani lives in Mumbai. He became the king of the country's retail sector after his firm brought an IPO in March 2017 for Avenue Supermarts.

Damani was the country's ace investor. In 2002, he opened a store in Mumbai. It later became one of the biggest retail chains in the country.

He also owns stakes in other companies. He also owns Radisson Blu Resort in Alibaug.

His brother Gopikishan is also a billionaire. In 2021, they bought a house for 100 million dollars (Rs 820 crore).

He was a mentor to late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

In 2023, he bought 28 apartments in Mumbai in a housing project being developed by Vikas Oberoi. He paid 155 million dollars (Rs 1288 crore) for the reported deal.
