The story of billionaire businessman Vinod Saraf begins in Rajasthan where he was born in a middle-class family of traders. Vinod Saraf was the eldest among seven siblings and Vonid realized at an early age that education is the only way to achieve big things in life and that’s the reason why Vinod Saraf always excelled in studies. He completed graduation as a state topper at just 17 years of age and then earned his MBA from BITS Pilani as gold medallist at 19.

After doing MBA, Vinod Saraf entered the corporate world but he did not initially get a job in big multinational companies due to his Hindi background. Vinod Saraf worked in various textile companies for about ten years before he got a job in a company of Birla Group. He became the managing director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, working with industrialist Aditya Birla. Apart from this, he worked in companies like Grasim Industries, Modern Syntex and Bhilwara Group.

Vinod Saraf rose to the position of CEO while working in the corporate sector. In 1990, Saraf decided to step out of the comfort zone and set up his own company. He formed a company named Vinati Organics in the name of his daughter. This company manufactures the chemical IBB or isopropyl benzene used in the painkiller drug ibuprofen. His daughter Vinati Saraf is the MD and CEO of this company. Vinod Saraf’s net worth is around Rs 15,000 crore (USD 1.8 billion), while Vinati Organics market cap is around Rs 20014 crore.
