The FBI has recently raised the reward for information leading to the arrest of Ruja Ignatova, also known as the 'Crypto Queen', from 4 million to 5 million dollars, which equals around Rs 417241250 in Indian currency. Ignatova, who was once the head of a cryptocurrency company, has made it to the FBI's top ten most wanted list for her alleged involvement in defrauding more than $4 billion through her company, OneCoin.

Ruja Ignatova, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency world, aimed to rival Bitcoin with her own cryptocurrency, OneCoin, which she launched in 2014. At its peak, OneCoin claimed to have garnered investments from as many as 3 million individuals worldwide, including the US.

However, Ignatova’s fortunes took a drastic turn as she found herself on the wrong side of the law. The US authorities issued a warrant for her arrest after she disappeared from Greece in 2017. She is accused of orchestrating a massive fraud scheme, reportedly in collaboration with the Bulgarian mafia, from 2014 to 2016.

In addition to her alleged involvement in defrauding billions of dollars, Ignatova is also accused of facilitating the sale of coins to her close associates, wherein initial investors were incentivized to recruit new investors, and the returns were paid to early investors from the funds acquired through subsequent investors.

Previously, Ignatova had pursued academic studies and held positions in a notable private company. However, her current status as a fugitive and her alleged criminal activities have brought her notoriety as one of the most wanted individuals by the FBI.
