Many Indian businessmen started their entrepreneurship journey from scratch. They later built companies worth thousands of crores. After leading their companies, they handed the reign to their kids. One such person who successfully leads her father's company is Zahabiya Khorakiwala. She is the daughter of Habil Khorakiwala, founder and chairman of Wockhardt, a multinational pharmaceutical company. Daughter Zahabiya oversees the hospital arm while his son heads the charitable foundation.

Zahabiya is the managing director of Wockhardt Hospitals whose market cap is Rs 9517 crore as of June 25. The hospital is headquartered in Mumbai. She took the reign in 2010 as executive director at 27. She is responsible for strategic decisions, including identifying new business opportunities. 

Zahabiya completed her schooling at the prestigious Aiglon College in Switzerland. Later, she moved to the US to pursue her graduation from New York University. She also holds an MBA degree from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. The businesswoman is also a director on the board of RPG Life Sciences Limited.

She has also set up Wockhardt Global School, a state-of-the-art K-12 school with International Baccalaureate Continuum and CBSE programmes in Aurangabad. Her father founded Wockhardt in 1967 after breaking away from his family's retailing empire.
