Nissan Motor India, the subsidiary company of Japanese car-maker, Nissan, today launched its first luxury segment sports vehicle 370Z in two variants, here.

The variants are priced at Rs53.5 lakh and Rs54.5 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Delhi), a company official said.
       
"Nissan is here to fulfil the diverse motoring needs of Indian customers. The car enables discerning performance car enthusiasts in the country to live fast with its breath-taking performance, cutting edge technology and seductive design and at a very attractive price," Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd's managing director and chief executive officer, Kiminobu Tokuyama, said at the launch.

The 370Z launch is a part of the Nissan Motor India's plan to launch nine models by 2012, Tokuyama said.

"We have plans to launch 9 models in India by 2012, of which we will import four models from Japan including the 370Z. The rest five models we plan to produce at our Chennai plant," he said. The production of Nissan's first made-in-India car would start from May this year, Tokuyuma said.

"We have paid close attention to the price-positioning of the newly-introduced sports car to particularly ensure that it is in a very competitive price segment," Hover Automotive India Ltd's vice president (Operations), Abhijit Pandit, said.

Nissan has partnered with Hover Automotive India (HAI) for marketing, sales and dealer development in India, HAI is a company formed by a group of global entrepreneurs.
