The Reserve Bank of India has lodged a complaint against an SBI branch here for allegedly depositing fake currency notes with it, police said.
   
According to the complaint, two fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 have been deposited with the RBI by State Bank of India (SBI) Mainpuri branch, superintendent of police Devendra Kumar Rai said.

An FIR has been lodged on the basis of the complaint filed by Anil Bajari of Reserve Bank of India (Kanpur) at Kotwali police station here yesterday, the officer said.

Earlier, six fake currency notes had been detected by the RBI in the cash currency chest sent by SBI, Bhogaon, the officer claimed.
