Cheteshwar Pujara scored one of his best test knocks on Friday as he led India to 27-run lead against England in the fourth match in Southampton.

India recovered from a precarious 195 for eight to go past England and finish at 273 in their first innings. 

Leading the five-match series 2-1, hosts England were all out for 246 in their first innings, and finished the second day at six for no loss in their second innings to trail by 21 runs.

On Thursday, Sam Curran scored 78 vital runs as England recovered from 86/6 to score 246 runs in their first innings. Japrit Bumrah (3/46), Ishant Sharma (2/26), Shami (2/51) and spinner R Ashwin (2/40) altogether portrayed a strong bowling attack for India. All-rounder Hardik Pandya (1/51) also managed a wicket.
