All eyes were on the battle between the two wicketkeepers - MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant - as Delhi Capitals hosted Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 at Feroz Shah Kotla on Tuesday.

While MS Dhoni is now a legend of Indian cricket, Rishabh Pant is considered the star of future. The 'guru-chela' chemistry and rivalry of the duo have been highlighted in a recent advertisement for Indian Premier League as well.

During the match, Pant effected a stumping of Shane Watson while Dhoni nearly stumped Shreyas Iyer. While Rishabh may have got the stumping in his favour during the match, it was the senior wicketkeeper who had the last laugh as he led his team to a 6-wicket win.

Rishabh Pant effected a brilliant stumping to get rid of Shane Watson during Chennai Super Kings innings. Watson stepped out against Amit Mishra was beaten by the turn. Pant collected the ball and quickly removed the bails. The replays confirmed it was out and Watson had to go back.

Earlier, during the Delhi Capitals innings, MS Dhoni nearly got Shreyas Iyer out with a quick stumping. Ravindra Jadeja beat Iyer with flight as the ball spun and missed the outside edge. Iyer's foot was behind the wicket but left the ground for the shortest of times.

Dhoni was quick as ever as he took the bails off. The leg umpire went upstairs to get a proper look at things. However, the decision did not come in Dhoni's favour as Iyer's foot was back on the ground when the bails were taken off.

While the results may have been different, there was not much different between the two stumpings. However, many noted that Dhoni collected the the ball much earlier than Pant and thus was quicker in getting the bails off.

While MS Dhoni's place for the upcoming World Cup is secure, Rishabh Pant is trying to impress during the IPL to earn his place. Pant, who scored 78 in his first innings against Mumbai, added another 25 runs on Tuesday. He earned the right to wear the Orange Cap during the second innings of the match. MS Dhoni, on the other hand, played the finisher as he remained unbeaten on 32.
