'We gave it everything we had!': Team India pen messages to thank fans for their undying support during World Cup

Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Twitter thanked fans as he tweeted, "Firstly I want to thank all our fans who came in huge numbers to support the team.

Our very own 'Boom Boom Bumrah' also shared a heartfelt message for everyone. He Tweeted, "A big thank you to all my team members, our coaches, support staff, our families and most importantly to all the undying support from all of you! We gave it everything we had!"

The man who almost got us through to the finals - Ravindra Jadeja told fans that cricket has thought him to never give up.

The all-rounder - who scored 77 - tweeted, "Sports has taught me to keep on rising after every fall & never to give up. Can’t thank enough each & every fan who has been my source of inspiration. Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been a crucial part of Team India. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "We had one goal, to win the world cup but we fell short. Can't describe the emotions, but a very big thank you to the fans who were and always are behind us. Jai hind".

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the tournament and Rishabh Pant was called in his place. The batsman - not a part of the squad - told the boys to cheer up for the fight they put on.

After the injury of Vijay Shankar, Mayank Agarwal was called up as a substitute.

The player - who did not get a chance to play - tweeted saying, "So proud of the way we played throughout the tournament! It felt incredible to be a part of Team India during the World Cup.
