“Thanks for always being the leader a youngster wants to have around him. You'll always be my captain @msdhoni Bhai,” Virat Kohli had tweeted when MS Dhoni stepped down as India’s limited-overs captain in the beginning of 2017.

With all the ICC trophies (World T20, Cricket World Cup, and Champions Trophy) on his cabinet, Dhoni is easily one of the greatest limited-overs skipper in the world and by far the best India have had so far.

Dhoni’s reign of almost a decade witnessed the rise of several talented players in the Indian team and one of those was leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Chahal, who in short time has cemented his place in the Indian limited-overs side with his ability to bamboozle the batsmen, has already played 31 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 26 twenty20 Internationals (T20I) since his debut in 2016.

Giving the due credit to Dhoni for his successful career so far, Chahal said, “I still look to Dhoni Bhai whenever I am in trouble or need any advice during a match.

Dhoni Bhai has amazing observation skills. He can tell from behind the stumps that a bowler has a doubt or has questions by our body language alone. Whenever I am in doubt, he comes and solves the problem.”

“Not just me, other bowlers too take help from him. We all are lucky to have him in the team,” the 28-year-old leg-spinner added.

Chahal narrated one of the several instances (India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2018 Super-Four) when he had bagged a wicket due to Dhoni in a match.

“During the match, Rohit Sharma (stand-in-skipper) was having a discussion with Dhoni Bhai. Rohit Bhai came and asked me to bowl in the Powerplay. I looked at Dhoni Bhai, he rushed towards me and asked me to bowl 'stump to stump'. I did just that and trapped Imam lbw.

This is not the first time he has guided me. There have been many occasions in the past when I got wickets because of him,” Chahal said.

Chahal also revealed that although Dhoni might have this Captain Cool image, he does not spare any bowler making silly mistakes.

“Sometimes Dhoni Bhai scolds us from behind the stumps when we make mistakes,” Chahal jokingly said.
