IND vs SA: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, remaining two ODIs called off

India's remaining two ODIs against South Africa, which were to be played behind closed doors have now been called off in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, PTI quoted a BCCI official on Friday.

The two ODI's were to take place in Lucknow and Kolkata on March 15 and March 18 respectively. Both the sides had reached Lucknow on Friday. The first game of the three-match series had been washed out due to rain in Dharamsala.

Earlier in the day, the BCCI even announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 which was to begin from March 29 to April 15 has been postponed. 

"With the IPL being postponed, it only made sense that at this point of time, this series is also called off. The country is facing a serious pandemic," a top BCCI official told PTI.

"The South African team will come to Delhi and leave by taking at the earliest available flight," he added.

India has recorded more than 80 positive cases so far with the global infected count standing at over 100,000. The death toll because of the virus has gone beyond 5,000 internationally.
