The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seems to has given a go-ahead for the referral system to be introduced in the upcoming edition Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to a report in the Indian Express, the board is ready to include DRS in the 11th edition of IPL. BCCI had played hardball with DRS for a long time and the system was not part of India's matches for a long time.
However, BCCI's attitude towards the DRS has changed since England's tour of India towards the end of 2016.
The IPL will become the second major T20 league to make use of DRS after the Pakistan Super League.
Meanwhile, cricket fans on twitter were quick to welcome the DRS, with many calling it the Dhoni Review System. The former Indian captain who will play for the Chennai Super Kings in this year's league is known for his uncanny successful use of the review system.

One particular incident was surely on everybody's mind when MS Dhoni, part of the Pune Supergiants team at that time, had sarcastically signalled for a DRS appeal during last season of IPL.
Imran Tahir appealed for LBW on Mumbai’s Kieron Pollard in the 15th over. However, umpire S Ravi turned down the appeals, saying it was not out.
At this juncture, Dhoni sarcastically signalled for a DRS appeal to make it known to the umpire that he did not agree with the decision.
Replays showed that the ball hit Pollard’s pad first and was well in line to hit the stumps meaning Dhoni and teammates were right in their appeal.
