Chennai Super Kings, the three-time IPL champions, arrived in the UAE on August 21 in order to prepare for IPL 2020. Currently, all the players are in a seven-day quarantine period with absolutely no communication. However, the quarantine period has not deterred players from following their fitness routine. Many players are indulging in their fitness and trying to be match fit from the comfort of their hotel rooms. One such cricketer is Suresh Raina, who will be a key player if Chennai Super Kings are to win the title for the fourth time. On the official Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings, Raina uploaded a 43-second video which has received a good amount of social media traction.

In the video, Raina is doing a lot of skipping exercises as well as activities to strengthen his hamstring. The left-hander is seen doing some weights as well as some pushups as he aims to get fit. The video has already been viewed over 70,000 times.

Chennai Super Kings in prime form

With both Raina and MS Dhoni announcing their international retirements, there is hope that both of them could unleash a style of play that could be dazzling. Both players announced their retirement on the same day, which was August 15.

Chennai Super Kings will be determined to avoid more heartbreak in the finals as they aim to match the Mumbai Indians in their tally of four IPL titles. In the 2019 IPL, Chennai Super Kings were on course to win the trophy thanks to Shane Watson’s 80 but a superb last ball from Lasith Malinga helped Mumbai Indians beat the Chennai Super Kings by one run. This was Chennai Super Kings’s third loss in an IPL final against Mumbai Indians, having lost to them in 2013, 2015 and then 2019.

Chennai Super Kings managed to come back to the IPL in grand style after being banned for two years due to the spot-fixing scandal. In 2018, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final in Mumbai to script a fairytale comeback. It is speculated that the first match of IPL 2020 will be between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
