Former Team India cricketer Yuvraj Singh took to social media to applaud the policemen helped a homeless man amid coronavirus lockdown across the nation.

The virus has brought all sports activities to a halt and players are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governments all around are urging people to stay at home.

The rapid spread of coronavirus worldwide has started seeing its serious impacts. India has imposed a 21-day lockdown till April 14 to combat the spread of novel coronavirus.

Yuvraj shared a heartwarming video on Twitter and captioned it: "It’s heartwarming to see such act of humanity shown by these policemen. Much respect for their act of kindness during these tough times and for sharing their own food. #StayHomeStaySafe #BeKind."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference meeting with 40 elite sportspersons of the country which included Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Mary Kom, etc to discuss the current situation in the country amid coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday, PM Modi had urged the nation through a video message, in which he appealed to the citizens of India to come together to defeat the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis, that is spreading like wildfire across the nation.

Last month, the Prime Minister had, in an address to the nation, asked the citizens to observe a 'Janta Curfew (People's Curfew)' on March 22 to avoid the spread of the coronavirus infection. For that occasion, Modi had appealed to the people to clang utensils, ring bells, and clap for five minutes at 5 PM to salute the healthcare professionals fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), there are 3072 confirmed cases of coronavirus cases in the country and 74 fatalities have been reported.
