When Shah Rukh Khan conducted Virat Kohli's 'swayamvar' in IPL 2014 and THIS is whom Indian skipper picked as his bride

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli on-field is known to all, but when it comes to his off-field life, the skipper has never shied away talking about his love life. Before getting married to Anushka Sharma in 2017, the two dated for a long time. 

So on 'Send Me Back Saturday' we take you to revisit the time when Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan had conducted Kohli's 'swayamvar' in 2014 and had asked the Indian captain to choose a bride for himself.

During the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) of 2014, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner was hosting the event and he had called Kohli to the stage. 

The actor had asked the cricketer what kind of girl he wanted to marry, to which the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketer had said that she should have nice hair, big eyes, a homely girl and more. 

Shah Rukh Khan started picking out cards with women's faces on them but Kohli didn't like any of them. Soon SRK then showed him a picture of Anushka and Kohli was seen all flustered.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, fondly called Virushka, had first met each other while shooting for a commercial and had fallen in love. After dating each other for quite some time, in the year 2017, they had made their relationship official by tying the knot.

Their wedding announcement was: "Today, we have promised each other to be bound in love forever." In 2021, Virushka had hopped on the journey of parenthood with the arrival of their baby girl, whom they have named, Vamika.
