'Ye Chahal ka idea tha kya?': Team India in splits as PM Modi asks Rohit Sharma about T20 World Cup trophy gesture

The T20 World Cup-winning Team India was graciously hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence upon their return home following their victory over South Africa in the final match. Prime Minister Modi took the time to personally interact with each member of the team, offering his heartfelt congratulations for their outstanding efforts on the field. He engaged in meaningful conversations with the players, even posing specific questions to gain insight into their experiences.

During a conversation with captain Rohit Sharma about the team's decision for a dramatic walk to collect the trophy, Prime Minister Modi injected a moment of levity by humorously suggesting that the mischievous Yuzvendra Chahal may have been the mastermind behind the idea. This lighthearted exchange brought laughter to the entire team.

Rohit mentioned that the team had instructed him to do something extraordinary, as they had been waiting for a long time to win the World Cup.

"It was such a big moment for all of us, everybody waited for it a long time. So everyone told me to not go to the stage in simple fashion," said Rohit.

During the interaction, Prime Minister Modi playfully teased Chahal and inquired if the idea had originated from the spinner. "Was this Chahal's idea?" asked PM Modi.
