On Saturday, heavy rain in Delhi caused the basement of an IAS Academy in Rajendra Nagar to flood. According to reports, some students are feared to be trapped in the water and two students were reportedly dead. The fire department confirmed the death of one female student, according to NDTV. There are also concerns that more students might be drowning due to the water filling up the basement.

The fire department's team has reached the spot and is currently conducting a rescue operation. They are working hard to safely evacuate the trapped students.

On the Old Rajender Nagar incident, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said, according ANI, "These children came here to create their future. But the government of CM Arvind Kejriwal and MLA Durgesh Pathak did not listen to any requests of the local people. People had been asking Durgesh Pathak for last one week to get the drainage systems cleaned. There are still 2.5 feet of waterlogged on the street... Arvind Kejriwal and Durgesh Pathak are responsible for the deaths..."

Meanwhile, AAP leader Atishi directed the Chief Secretary to initiate a magisterial inquiry and provide a report within 24 hours on the incident where students were trapped in the basement of a coaching institute due to heavy rain and flooding.
