The Karnataka government recently transferred several IAS officers. Among them is Mohammad Roshan, a 2015 batch IAS officer who has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi. Roshan, who secured the 44th rank in the 2015 UPSC exam, is now in the spotlight due to his new role.
Before this appointment, Mr. Roshan was the Managing Director of HESCOM. He has also served as the ZP CEO in Haveri and the Assistant Commissioner in Savanur. During his tenure in Haveri, he earned praise for implementing a reusable drinking water system. This system, which supplied water through a network of underground pipes operated by gravity, ensured no leakage or wastage. It was particularly effective during the Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, where large crowds gathered, according to a report by The Hindu.
Originally from Hyderabad, he comes from a family of civil servants. He holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and an MA in Public Policy.
